Her given name is Kyoko, but the series follows the Japanese tradition of referring to people by last names and reserving first names to be used only by close friends and family. She will likely introduce herself as Kirigiri first, unless mun decides otherwise or forgets.

[[DANGAN RONPA 1 SPOILERS AHEAD! Spoilers will be marked out.]]
PREMISE OF DANGAN RONPA:
Dangan Ronpa is a Japanese murder mystery game for the PSP console series (I think??) that follows a group of high school students locked into their own campus with no memories past their arrival at the school. Hope's Peak Academy is an extremely exclusive, reputable highschool where enrollment is via invitation only- in a quest to study "talent" and talented youth, the school seeks out youths of highschool age who display exemplary talent in their field, and offer to enroll them as "Super High School Level (SHSL) Students". (A baseballer, for example, would have the title like SHSL Baseballer or some variant.)
In the actual game, however, the cast of students are locked into a deserted campus and told to murder each other by a animatronic bear known as Monobear, who gives incentives to scare or otherwise manipulate someone in the class to murder another. The students have to figure out the story behind their confinement in the school while surviving several rounds of murders and "Class Trials", where the class has to solve the murder and identify the murderer for execution. If the murderer can get away with their murder and not be found, they will be allowed to leave the school (while the rest of the class are executed instead.)
Kirigiri transfers over to Hogwarts shortly after Dangan Ronpa has ended. I'll try to avoid as much major spoilers as possible, please let me know if you don't want to be spoiled! But there're some middle-game spoilers such as her SHSL title (she doesn't remember it at the start) that're quite hard to avoid. I'll try to ask before I talk about those? But those should be pretty minor yeah.

Quick description: Long lavender hair, mostly let down except for a side braid secured with a black ribbon. Purple eyes. Pale skin. Canonverse clothes are a leather jacket over a white blouse + tie + skirt school-uniformish getup. Generally always has her black gloves on.
Height: 167cm (5' 6")
Personality:
Calm and reserved to a fault- many would consider her cold and asocial. She has no problem keeping most people at a distance, and without incentive is quite comfortable staying a loner. She's generally not adverse to interaction though, and wouldn't mind a amiable sort of conversation; especially if she's going to be alone in a new verse where making connections to survive is a good idea. Kirigiri'll talk to you if you talk to her, but her secretive nature makes getting close to her a lot tougher than just walking up and striking a friendly chat.
While not the best at small-talk or slumber parties, Kirigiri's intellect and shrewd street-smarts make her a good idea to have on your side. She's extremely adaptable and figures out the ropes to things quickly, [[MILD SPOILER]] and it's served her well in her profession of being a detective. Yes, she's a really young detective. She somehow gets away with it. This does also means that she has no problems messing with dead bodies, and can probably help you get rid of the cockroach in the room if you're afraid of roaches.
Underneath her cold exterior, however, she happens to have quite a few issues that are privy only to those she trusts. [[SPOILERS]] She's very touchy about her (absent) father, filled with conflicting emotions of longing and betrayal that both run deep. Kirigiri doesn't really like talking about it. She tries to keep her emotions under wraps by not talking about it, but getting to know her better reveals occasional moments of petty grudge-holding and passive-aggressiveness- unfortunately, she's not as good an actress as she hopes to be. For someone secretive, it's ironic that one good way to offend Kirigiri is to keep secrets from her.
History:
Hailing from a family of detectives, Kirigiri grew up with her grandparents and learnt many of her skills from her grandfather. She spent a period of time living abroad, and lived in Japan from 13 presumably til she was scouted for entry to Hope's Peak as [[MILD SPOILER]] SHSL Detective.
[[MAJOR SPOILERS]] Kirgiri's father Jin Kirigiri left the family after her mother died, when she was very young. Her father eventually became the Headmaster of Hope's Peak Academy, leading Kirigiri to seek entry into the school by touting her abilities to attract the attention of the Academy talent scouters. (The Kirigiri family traditionally keeps themselves out of the spotlight.)
There are even more parts of the story that will be left out since they deal with fairly major endgame spoilers.

House: Ravenclaw. (Hatstalled between Ravenclaw and Slytherin.)
Year: 6th year. While technically too old for the school, she was placed in the 6th year because the last two years of her studies were disrupted by Plot Spoilers. She has half a mind to repeat 6th year for a few more years just to get her bearings and actually reach 6th year standard. Magic is confusing.
Wand: Ivy with unicorn-hair core, springy.Of average length.
Pet: None. Considering requesting to adopt an owl to deliver mail more conveniently.
Classes: Transfiguration, Potions, Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, History of Magic, Arithmancy, Muggle Studies
